Personality;
As a young woman, Rosalie was particularly beautiful and wealthy, and received a good deal of attention of it, which has left her with some self-centered tendencies. It doesn't really help that since then she has only become even more beautiful and wealthy, as a result of her transformation into a vampire and subsequent adoption into the Cullen family of vampires. Even though she wasn't interested in Edward, she was still a little offended that he wasn't interested in her--mainly because she was just used to everyone being attracted to her. Although, after the initial shock wore off, it was kind of refreshing for her; it was nice to have someone to talk to for once who wasn't interested in her like that, particularly after the trauma that caused the end of her mortal life.

And, like most vampires, Rosalie has issues. The circumstances of her rebirth as a vampire were particularly traumatic; after being raped and beaten to near-death by her fiancée and his friends, she went through the even more painful transformation. This still marks her to this day, some seventy-odd years later. While she has learned to love again, and found a partner in her husband Emmett, the moments of the day she became a vampire are still particularly vivid for her. (One of the reasons she has kind of a thing about babies is that she recalls very strongly meeting with her friend Vera, who had married for love rather than money, and seeing how happy she was with her husband and new baby, contrasted with Rosalie's own untimely end on the same day.)

As a result of this, Rosalie has a certain amount of anger and rage within her that won't go away for good. While Dr. Cullen tried to stop her, she went and took revenge on her killers--theatrically donning her wedding dress to kill her ex-fiancée. And while Rosalie can be somewhat selfish, she also has a ridiculous amount of self-control when it comes to having things just like she wants them. While she killed ten men, she didn't drink a single drop of their blood--because she wanted it to be about revenge, not about her being a newborn vampire. (She keeps it on the down-low because Dr. Cullen will make the disappointed-in-you face, but still today she will occasionally take revenge for a woman who's been wronged if she catches wind of it. Some people just don't deserve life, okay.) But yeah, when she gets it in her head to do something, just try and stop her, asshole.

She also still carries a certain amount of resentment about becoming a vampire; she still maintains that it wasn't what she would have chosen, if anyone had bothered to ask her. As a mortal, she had wanted for little and had been happy just being herself; she simply wanted to love, to raise children, to grow old happily. The fact that she will never have children or grow old is still a sore point with her, to the point where she becomes angry at Bella Swan for treating her mortal life so lightly.

Despite the fact that she didn't and doesn't want to be a vampire, it hasn't stopped her from pursuing her own interests after her transformation. Having realized that she'd been living a life where she'd never been able to just do what she really wanted--she had to worry about being a lady, or societal rules.

As a result, Rosalie is now an exceptional mechanic and has degrees in medicine, astrophysics and electrical engineering. Although she and her "siblings" regularly go back to school mostly to keep up appearances, Rosalie legitimately does have a passion for the sciences, which she never would have been able to explore as a mortal. She likes to take advantage of the opportunity to learn; if she can't grow as mortals do, she can at least grow in her mind and soul.

She's also happy to have found Emmett, who she considers to be the love of her (un)life. For a long time she thought her ability to love was gone, but then she met Emmett, who used his strength for good and not to harm, and had an easy, friendly laugh and was patient and funny, she found her feelings returning again. He's not quite as intellectual-minded as Rosalie, but they still have plenty to talk about and have a similar sense of humor. She likes to think that she's at least gotten half of her dream ending, if not the whole enchilada.

So... there are good things, she recognizes that. But part of her still wishes she'd been able to live out a happy life as a mortal, and that will, for the forseeable future, be hanging over her head.

Well, it's practically like home, isn't it? This place is as grey as Forks.

If they wanted someone to bring color to the place, they should have taken Esme. The woman knows how to decorate, that's for sure. Or if they wanted someone all sunshine and rainbows, Alice. Rosalie, well... what does an undead being do to bring life to a place? She can't help but think that her choosing was horribly stupid. (That, and the fact that they didn't bother to ask if she wanted to come chafes at her. She almost wants to do something just to spite these gods, whoever they are.)

Then again, it's this or another dreary year or two in dreary high school with dreary people in a dreary town. She snorts to herself. All right, there's at least something this is better than. It's certainly more cosmopolitan than middle-of-bugfuck-nowhere Washington, USA. Maybe she's not even sure why they brought her here... but maybe, just maybe, she can have a little fun.

She can work with that.
